An environmentally-friendly fertiliser producer, solar cell manufacturer, and energy efficiency company are among the Pennsylvania-based winners in an early-stage funding round by Ben Franklin Technology Partners of close to $2m.
Holganix, which produces a benign nutrient spray replacement for conventional fertilisers, secured $250,000 in the round.
Quanta Technologies, which has already begun marketing its insulating glass systems for domestic and commercial uses, also won $250,000 in the round, representing its second investment from the regional investor.
Valance Process Equipment also gained an investment of the same size, which will contribute to its development of production scale chemical vapour deposition systems, used to manufacture solar cells.
‘This latest round of investments is a restatement of the region’s ability to produce enterprises across a wide range of diverse technologies,’ said Ben Franklin CEO RoseAnn Rosenthal.
